Happy New Year!
Tuesday, 05 Jan 2010 ~ Posted by Mook
Well, it’s all over. Christmas is gone for another year. The decorations are coming down and that feeling of anticipation has faded…until next year.
Still, 2010 has some interesting things lined up. Firstly, each manufacturer will be launching a new range, full of new features. On the white good front things won’t change too much. A few new design styles, maybe some more steam appliances, but a fairly ordinary year.
On the brown goods side though things will be interesting to say the least. Rumours of Freeview HD will see the first truly HD ready televisions come to market, as well as a range of retro-fittable options, possibly in time for the world cup.
Speaking of which, on demand content for the world cup will be at its peak, so expect TV’s with built in iPlayer, Youtube, hopefully connected wirelessly.
There are also rumours of “on-demand” boxes, featuring ITVPlayer, iplay, Skyplayer, 4OD and more. All giving the view the choice to watch what they want, when they want. iPlayer is also being trialled on the Freesat platform as we speak.
Not to mention 3D TV as well!
Being a world cup year, Tv sales are likely to be frantic, especially with the digital switchover taking place in some northern areas. TV supplies could run short, so get in early.
What have JJ’s got planned for the year ahead? Honestly, I don’t know. I sit down to work out a plan I get interrupted because it’s so busy. I cannot complain, our customers are looking after us as well as we are taking care of them.
We will continue to grow, and constantly offer the best value, and best service we can.
Have a great year!
