Digital Switchover dates for London Announced!!

Saturday, 09 Apr 2011 ~ Posted by Mook

Digital Switchover dates announced.

Yesterday DigitalUK announced that the London Region will complete the switch to Digital in April 2012.  Starting on April 4th with a full retune, and followed on April 18th by the shutting down of the Analogue transmission.

What does this mean to you?  Well, if you haven’t already got a digital TV, Freeview box, Sky or Virgin Media,  you are going to have to buy some new equipment.

If you have any of the above then you will be able to view your television as usual.

However, all old VCR’s,  and any DVD recorder over 4 or 5 years old,  will revert to a PLAY ONLY state.  If you wish to record from next April you will need to invest in a Digital recorder such as a PVR or DVD recorder, with built in Freeview.

Luckily, all of our staff are well versed in the changes that are coming,  and will be able to advise you exactly what equipment you need.

HOWEVER, everybody in London will be in the same situation as you, so there will be stock shortages and delivery waiting lists.  With the Olympics, the Queens Jubilee and European Championships, it’s a HUGE year for Television already, so, don’t leave it too late.

Any equipment bought today is ready for the change, and you’ll have plenty of time to get used to it before the switchover.  So, pop in and see us for the latest information and up to date models

Don’t wait, do it today!
