what it the best bosch washing machine to get for a family.one that has a good size drum and is reliable?
Hi, Thanks for the question. As with anything, budget is key to choosing a new machine, but Bosch is a very good place to start. Obviously depending on what you’ve GOT, will determine what you need. Our best selling machine at present is the WAE24366. This has a 6kg drum and a 1200rpm spin speed. Being Bosch you get the 2 year warranty, and the best aftermarket care in the industry. This retails for £399.99 including dleivery, installation and disposal of your old machine and is a very good “bread and butter” washing machine.
If you want a larger capacity, and for arguments sake a faster spin speed, then the WAS28460gb is worth considering. This time you get 8kg of capacity (thats 17.5 lbs!) and a 1400rpm spin speed. The machine has a more complex control panel, allowing much more specific laudry choices. There are sports, dark and sensitive washes to name a few, all designed for that sports fan, fussy Emo or allergy sufferer. Obviously this comes at a premium, and the WAS28460 comes in at £599 all in, again with a 2 year warranty.
At this price level however you can consider some other brands. Most notably Panasonic or Siemens. With both of these brands you can get a similar basic Specification, but with a long Warranty. My preffered alternative at the moment is the Panasonic NA-148 as reviewed HERE. Great size, price and spec. and a long warranty.
Otherwise the Siemens WM14P360 is a great alternative. (this is a review of the previous model) Currently priced at £599, you get 8kg and 1400rpm, without the frills of the Bosch, but with a 5 year parts and labour warranty. Peice of mind vs. wash sophistication is the choice to be made here.
Like I say, consider the Panasonic, or the entry Level Bosch, either way you’ll be getting a great quality machine with a specification or warranty to suit your needs.
Hope that helps
