Should I buy an LCD now, or should I wait a few months for OLED’s to become more affordable?
Ah, an interesting question, most notable for it’s misunderstanding of the current marketplace. Basically, OLED is still a long way off. At present it is in the R&D stage with most manufacturers, and Sony have a single, small screen available for megabucks. Most manufacturers want to milk 3D for a while first, so I would suggest OLED is years, rather than months away.
LED of course, the type Samsung have been flogging for the last 18 months, is merely an LCD screen with an LED backlight. When OLED arrives, it will be very similar in principle to Plasma, each pixel illuminated individually,… only wafer thin.
Hope that helps
