How do I re-tune my Sagem Freeview box?
Wednesday, 30 Sep 2009 ~ Posted by Mook
SAGEM FREEVIEW BOX;
It is quite possible that on or around the 30th of September, your Sagem freeview box will flash up a message on the screen telling you that “New channels have been detected on the flow”, or something similar. If this happens, simply press the OK button. If it then asks you if you’re sure, simply press the OK button once more. A large blue screen will appear, with a red or yellow bar moving slowly across the middle. Simply wait for this bar to reach the end, it will take a few minutes, then the box will take you back to BBC1 and you’ve done it.
However, if such a message doesn’t appear, you will have to tune it manually. This is easier than it sounds, just follow the steps below;
1) Switch your TV and freeview box on in the usual way.
2) Press MENU on your freeview box remote control. A large blue screen will appear, offering you several options. The bottom option is “Installation”. Press the down arrow button (underneath the OK button) until the word “Installation” is lit in yellow. Press the OK button.
3) It will ask you to enter an installation code. This code is “1234”, so enter this using the number buttons and press OK.
4) Two more options will appear. The bottom one is “Box settings”. Press the down arrow button until this is lit in yellow, then press the OK button.
5) A new set of options will appear. The top one is “Channel Tuning”, this should already be lit in yellow. Press the OK button.
6) A message will appear asking if you want to replace existing channels with a new auto tune. You do, so press the OK button.
7) A large blue screen will appear, with a red bar moving very slowly across it. This will take a few minutes, so put the remote down and leave it until this red bar reaches the end.
8) Once the red bar reaches the end, a message will appear with “SAVE THE LIST?” at the bottom. Press the OK button.
9) That’s it! You should now be back on normal TV.
Remember to keep these instructions safe. You will have to do this several more times over the next few years due to the digital switchover.
